Input
This section includes the power source (the crank) as well as
the input differential settings. Each of the plates in the
vertical stack have different shapes which push against rods
in the transmission section and engage the accumulators at different
times. This section is all analog.
In order to calculate different polynomial functions, different
plates have to be machined, which is a complex task. This makes
programming the machine a bit difficult. I believe the current
plates are set up to calculate logarithm approximations.
The single axle at the bottom provides power to the output
section.
