Give me power!
Close up look at the power source. Eventually the machine would
have been connected to a steam engine.
All of these parts were made by hand by volunteers. You can
tell there was a lot of care taken.
The string is connected to the output section. When the output
section fills up one plaster mold it pulls the string, which
automatically disengages the handle, so the operator is forced
to insert a fresh plaster mold before continuing the calculation.
